Steps Recorder (called Problems Steps Recorder in Windows 10), is a program that helps you troubleshoot a problem on your Computer by recording the steps you took when the problem occurred. You can then send this record to a person who can help you to solve it.

Steps Recorder is a combination of key logger, screen capture and annotation tool for Windows. It’s used to quickly and easily document actions made on Computer for troubleshooting purposes. Here we show you the best way of using Steps Recorder Feature in Windows 10.

Note: Steps Recorder is only available in Windows 10, Windows 8 (including Windows 8.1), Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008.

Unfortunately, the Steps Recorder Feature is not available in Windows Vista, Windows XP, or other Microsoft Operating System.

Using Steps Recorder Feature in Windows 10.

1: Firstly go to the search and type Steps Recorder then click on the top one by the name of steps recorder.

2: Now click on Start record.

3: If you need to pause the recording for some reason, tap the Pause Record button and after that Press Resume Record to restart the recording. At last click on Stop Record when you done.

4: Once stopped, you’ll see the results of the recording in a report that appears below the original Steps Recorder Window.

5: Click on save button.

6: Name the zip file, choose where to save it afterward click on save button.

7: Go on zip file after that right click on it and then click on Extract to testing.

The recording made by PSR is in the MHTML format which is viewable in any web browser. Now you can send this zip file to the person helping you troubleshoot the problem on your PC.
